As a mom, I am always looking for new and fun things to do with my kids outside. With warmer weather here, it is crucial to be outside enjoying it. Here are just a few ideas of outside activities.

1 Cup of Water
1 Cup of Cornstarch
Mix the water and cornstarch together and then add the food coloring. You can add as much as you want to make the colors as vivid as you would like them. The mixture will be thick when finished. Give your kiddos some paint brushes and see what they create!!
Our family recently spent the afternoon painting rocks and we have placed them by our back door. (We have had the large rock for years and I have always wanted to get our name on it! I am so excited it is done. It is simple, but I love it!) All five of us painted a rock with things that we enjoy. My daughter's rock (far left) has a basketball, flowers, and a pig. My 15 year old son put his favorite teams on his (second from left). My 12 year old loves basketball...I think you can figure out which one is his! 😉 I painted a koala on mine (by the way, I totally cheated and used a drawing for kids website for help!) and my husband put one of his favorite Bible verses on his. We used a basic acrylic craft paint. We didn't put a final clear coat on them, but I would recommend that if you are wanting them to last outside for awhile. We have had a few rain storms and we are seeing some of the paint chip off now. If you can put them inside or on a covered porch, I think they would last longer. We had a great time enjoying the sunshine and painting our rocks!
You could also paint rocks with pictures or encouraging messages and hide them around your town for others to see and spread some joy and love!
I hope you enjoy these outdoor activities with your family! A future blog is going to have some fun you can have with water!!
