Summer is upon us and that means our children are spending more time at home and they are hungry! Here are some super simple snacks that your children can help you make too.
Frozen Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites
All you need is:
bananas
peanut butter
chocolate chips
coconut oil
Start by peeling and cutting the bananas into ¼ inch thick slices. Use some peanut butter to make little banana peanut butter sandwiches. Place them onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and place in the freezer to harden. Once hardened, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a bowl by microwaving for one minute and stirring. Add 30 more seconds if not melted after stirring but shouldn’t take more than two minutes. Dip your frozen peanut butter sandwiches into your melted chocolate then freeze again. Once chilled it is time to dig in!
All you need is:
apples
peanut butter and/or nutella
toppings of your choice (crushed oreos, sprinkles, chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, seeds, granola)
Start by cutting an apple into 1/2 inch thick slices. Then use an icing tip (backwards) to cut out the core of each slice. Pat dry each ring then spread peanut butter and/or nutella on. Top as you like and enjoy!
Tortilla Pizza
All you need is:
small tortillas
pizza sauce
shredded cheese
toppings of your choice
Place a small amount of sauce on the tortilla and spread around. Sprinkle cheese and your toppings on top and heat. These can be cooked in a microwave for 30 seconds, an air fryer at 400 degrees for 4 minutes or baked for 350 degrees till melty. Simple and delicious.
Yogurt Cereal Bark
All you need is:
yogurt
fruity cereal (Fruit Loops, Fruity Pebbles, etc.)
Start by lining a flat pan with parchment paper. Spread yogurt out evenly. Make sure it's not too thin or it can break easily ¾ of an inch thick is ideal. Sprinkle cereal of your choice on top. Place in the freezer for a couple of hours. Once completely frozen and ready to serve remove the parchment, break into pieces and enjoy. Make sure to serve right away and place back into the freezer to keep solid.
💡 Pro Tip - These snacks are completely customizable to meet your families dietary needs. Feel free to adjust with things such as Wowbutter, Sun butter, plant-based cheese, and non-dairy yogurt options.
